An excellent basic guide to stream corridor definitions, functions, and restoration. This colorful pamphlet has three sections: Stream Corridors, Human Impacts, and Restoration. The Stream Corridor section defines watersheds, stream flow, floodplains, riparian vegetation, functions of a healthy stream corridor and more. The Human Activities section describes how certain human actions can harm stream corridors, and offers alternatives to modify an activity to lessen its impact. The Stream Restoration or Rehabilitation section covers restoring functionality, watershed planning, eight steps to restore a stream corridor, and a glossary of terms used throughout the document.

This book describes over 40 stream restoration projects throughout Colorado. The book is arranged by watershed. Each site is viewable from a public roadway. Site descriptions include the location, landowners, directions to the site, the restoration objectives, a project description/methods, and results. This comprehensive field guide includes descriptions of over 180 wetland and riparian plant associations in Colorado. It is spiral bound on heavy, water resistant paper, ready for field use. The guide includes methods used to classify these wetlands, and a dichotomous key to each plant association. Each description has the common and scientific name for the association, its Natural Heritage Global and State Rank, Hydrogeomorphic Class, elevation range, a map of plots taken in Colorado, a photograph of the community, and a table of species with average and range of percent canopy cover. Text includes a general description, vegetation descriptions, and ecological processes. The descriptions are grouped by physiognomic type: Evergreen Riparian Forests, Mixed Coniferous and Deciduous Forests and Woodlands, Deciduous Forests and Woodlands, Tall Willow Shrublands, Short Willow Shrublands, Non-Willow Shrublands, and Herbaceous Vegetation.
