Dear Colorado Riparian Association Membership,

Thank you for being the lifeblood of our group and for continuing to prioritize the time to work on our common riparian-based interests together. As we endeavor towards our 2010 joint Colorado Watershed Conference (coming up in October 2010) with our other partners, it is important to remember that this is our annual forum to speak out and speak up about the information that we need and the changes to our work and political environments that continue to affect us. We on the CRA Board encourage each and every one of you to become further involved to make sure that our group is your bully-pulpit for those issues that are near and dear to our heart. The time has long come for us to be proactive through CRA and our sister organizations by passionately pursuing the information that we need and the individuals who we need it from. With this year’s conference topic being “Learning from the Past to Protect Our Future”, it is hugely important for you to give your feedback to us about the types of speakers and workshops that you want to see at our conference. A second vehicle for your input is the Nationwide Stream Restoration Practitioner Survey that is being conducted by the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Please read the article in this issue of the greenline for information on how you can participate. It is up to all of us to make sure that we, as both a group and as a joint conference, remain relevant in today’s ever-changing times and environmental workplace. Please make sure to mark your calendars for October 5 – 7th at the Cascade Resort in Vail, Colorado and take the time to complete the Stream Restoration Practitioner Survey.

Thanks again and all the very best.
