It is that time of year. The air is getting cooler, weather patterns are shifting, river flows keep dropping, and the Sustaining Colorado Watershed’s conference is just around the corner (October 4 – 6th). I hope to see many familiar faces there, and many new ones. With the conference coming up, it seems like a good time to point out that the Colorado Riparian Association and its member network does not hibernate the rest of the year. The CRA board members are busy all year long, planning for the next green line, the next conference, and reaching out to educate and network on a wide range of riparian issues. Twelve months of the year CRA is a resource and an opportunity for you to network. Make sure to keep in touch after the conference is done. Email or call us to discuss riparian issues. Better yet, invite us to your site; most of the CRA board/membership is at its best in the field. On a different note, I want to thank all of the board members for a great year. Plans are well underway for website overhauling, online ordering and a Facebook presence. The green line has been full of great articles and is going electronic. This fall’s conference agenda is looking great. The dedication and enthusiasm of the board members leading these efforts was infectious, and I enjoyed serving as president and doing my best to be involved in riparian issues and the future of the Colorado Riparian Association. Best of all, I know that the next president, Chris Sturm, will do a fantastic job.
