As you read this issue of the green line, our annual conference in Estes Park will be less than a month away. We are excited about this year’s conference theme — the link between riparian areas and wildlife — as well as our conference location on the doorstep of one of the nation’s most majestic national parks. With two field trips into Rocky Mountain National Park wrapped around a day filled with speakers, sponsor exhibits, and our awards banquet, this year’s conference promises to be fun and educational. See the enclosed updated agenda and registration form and sign up by September 30. Conference information and registration information is also available on the CRA website.
Articles in this issue include the creation of Colorado’s first Conservation Bank, designed to provide habitat for the endangered Preble’s meadow jumping mouse and an intentionally non-technical look at getting involved in watershed planning. The third installment in the series on other conservation organizations looks at the Colorado Wildlife Society. We are actively seeking articles for future newsletters, so please contact with your ideas. We hope that you had a productive and enjoyable summer, and look forward to seeing you next month in Estes Park.
